WHY IS MICROSOFT OUTLOOK NOT RECEIVING EMAILS?

If you are waiting for an email and it is not reaching your inbox, then it means that Outlook is not receiving emails. Users of Outlook have reported several instances where they are unable to receive emails in their Outlook inbox. The reasons for this issue are aplenty. Luckily, there are many more ways to fix and resolve the error when Outlook is not receiving emails.

6 WAYS TO FIX WHEN OUTLOOK IS NOT RECEIVING EMAILS

  1. Check the spam folder on Outlook: Outlook has a smart filter where it can send junk and spam emails to the spam folder. But not always does Outlook smartly filter emails. Sometimes, it sends legitimate emails to the spam folder causing trouble to the user. It is wise to check the spam folder if you suspect that Outlook is not receiving emails. If you find your email in the spam folder, then categorize it as “Not Junk” so that Outlook doesn’t confuse the email address as spam in the future.

  2. Merge your email sorting options:  Outlook has many options to sort your emails. Make sure that the sequence is kept in such a way that new emails are always shown on the top. Not adding this as a preference will make Outlook mix the new emails with the other older ones and you won’t be notified when new emails arrive.

  3. Disable offline mode on Outlook: Outlook has an option to Work Offline where the server will get disconnected but you will still be able to work. But when the server is disconnected, then new mails won’t come unless back online. Check that your Outlook is working online when you’re about to receive new emails.

  4. Check that the sender/recipient email address is not on your block list: Outlook has the option of letting you keep a list of all the email addresses from which you don’t wish to receive emails. There may be an instance where you have added a specific email address from which you are expecting an email to this blocked list. Check the list and unblock the sender/recipient address from that list to be able to receive emails from them.

  5. Clear Outlook cache: Outlook maintains a cache of files to improve performance and this may be the reason why Outlook is not receiving emails. In such cases, delete the entire cache of Outlook and see if you’re able to receive new emails now.

  6. Create a new Outlook profile: If all the methods given above do not help, there might be a possibility that your current Outlook profile may be corrupt or a setting has been changed. Discard the old profile then and create a new Outlook profile. Within a few minutes, you will be able to configure your email address with the new profile.

These are some methods you can use when you notice that your Outlook is not receiving emails. You can also shift to another alternative of Outlook if needed. Check online for more solutions to fix this issue or contact the technical support helpline of Outlook.
